Access Tarquinia

REVITALIZATION FOR THE DOORS OF THE CITY
International competition,Third Prize.
Our proposal for the improvement of the access to the city and the Etruscan necropolis of Tarquinia consist in the creation of an urban project developed by phases. The project leads the users to perceive a soft contrast that makes clear strategic urban areas and touristic places through the use of raw materials. Over time, these places lost its relevance and pedestrian accessibility due to the usual development of the road network in relation to the urban cores.
Designed fences and steel signposts give visibility to cultural facilities and public parks located close to the main roads, connecting disused urban green areas and given space to new socialization places. These places are used for recreation, sports and as an extension of the countryside life for local population and visitors.
